Calvary United Baptist Church was organized 1963. A few members from the Old Fashion United Baptist Church of Indiana started having meetings in the home of Enoch and Lura Jones in Port Jefferson, Ohio using 50 borrowed chairs for seating. Lawrence Inman was the preacher. In 1964, they were set up as a mission from the Indiana church and in 1965 they rented the Union Hall on Michigan Avenue in Sidney, Ohio for their meeting place. On May 10, 1965, Calvary United Baptist Church was organized. Brother Lawrence Inman was elected as their Pastor. In 1970, the church purchased the Union Hall in which they were meeting. In 1983, the church purchased property on CR 25A in Sidney to be the future site of a new building. A Ground Breaking Service was held at this site on April 24, 1999 and building began shortly after. Construction of the building was performed by the members of the church. On December 11, 1999, the Church was dedicated to the service of our Lord.
